Before the throne of God above

Before the throne of God above
Words by Charitie L Bancroft

This hymn has a few of older tunes. This is a more modern tune, I'm not sure if it's got folk roots or a noted author, but if anyone knows, just PM me and I'll add it in. Thanks and enjoy this astounding song - the lyrics say it all!

 4 4 -4 5 4 3 4 4
Before the throne of God above
4 4 -4 5 4 5 6 6
I have a strong and perfect plea.
4 5 6 -6 6 -4 5 4
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
3 4 5 -4 4 -3' 4 4
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
7 7 -7 -6 6 5 6 6
My name is graven on His hands,
7 7 -7 -6 6 -6 -7 7
My name is written on His heart.
-8 7 -7 -6 6 -4 5 4
I know that while in Heaven He stands
3 4 5 -4 4 -3' 4 4
No tongue can bid me thence depart.
3 4 5 -4 4 -3' 4 4
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
The King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ my Savior and my God!
With Christ my Savior and my God!
